cold mountain (37)

People say cares never depart
a saying I thought was untrue

The wrinkles at the corners of the eyes deepen, paths worn ever-steeper by joy and sorrow. Ride the cart carelessly, cut the trail in blood and tears. Wipe the rime away from your lashes, lead the stubborn animal and reluctant wheels along with laughter, there being nothing new on the path we’ve followed until now.
